why is it
« on: 11 November 2007, 18:33:34 »

when finances start to look good, selling my Nintendo Wii's just made a huge bundle on some overtime work, all the expenses come in....

my laptop just died, luckily it looks like its just the hard drive, after 4 years its not too bad!

So potentially looking at a new laptop, but hopefully this new hard drive will fix the problem

Car is running on vapour (another £55!)

Symptoms of the laptop failure:

Started locking up (no HDD activity) just froze, mouse and all.

Difficult to reboot, sometimes refuses to, once it does boot, loads fine but then grinds to a halt and runs dead slow.

Took me about 2 hours to export my e-mails from outlook, trying to save the data from the dying drive.... at least i hope its that and not the motherboard!  :(

I need £60 of fuel from light-on to full. Typically, Friday night, needed to fill up and got the slowest petrol pump in the world. I kid you not, it took 10 minutes while I'm stood in the freezing cold...

Shell pay at pump only allows £60. Tescos is £60 as well. At least Asda is £70 - I can normally get close to brimming it at Asda ::)

Must be the week for it! Just had to buy a new DIMM for my home laptop (new one on order from eBuyer, cheaper than secondhand from eBay) so it's crawling on 256Mb!

Glad I brought my work laptop back this weekend!

Went to the usual Shell garage today and regular unleaded still 96.9 so had a tankful of that!
