Have Miggy front shocks sounding heavily when you roll through a small ditch. Are the shocks gone.
I am told they can be refilled. Pls help.

Secondly when power steer is turned there is a little squeaky sound when it returns.

The knocking sound could be your droplinks which are about £15 ish over here on Fleabay :y

To test shocks I have always pushed the car down and watched the response; if it gently rises to its original position shocks ok, if the car rapidly rises with a bounce then they are shot!

My method anyway that has always worked for me. :D :D :D

you might need to check level/replace power steering fluid (it gets warm and goes all squeeky sometimes i'v found when you dont have the right amount in)
