exhaust system...
« on: 14 January 2009, 19:37:57 »

hiya, most of my exhaust system is either broken or has a hole in it somewhere or another lol (basically i may aswell get a new or nearly new exhaust and get the complete system from downpipes back to the backbox.

are there any downpipes that have the high flow 200cell cats (so you dont have to hack up a down pipe and weld them in) ?
also can somebody tell me prices of the rear pipe/s on the 3.0's with the twin exit backbox (i think my backbox is ok but there's holes in the rear pipes going into it)
maybe i can get the downpipes, a centre pipe/pipes that are higher flow and then use the standard backbox so it looks standard?

thanks

With regards to the cats, sorry no idea but as for the cat back system then try these people,   http://eternalcar.com/index.php   I bought mine from them as have a few others on the Forum and seem to be very good inc. fitment and not bad on price either :y

      HTH,
            Pete :).

Oh ... didn't know that .. thanks .. :)

Not that I need one with a stainless system fitted, although the MOT man suggested I might like to think about replacing the mounting rubbers ... didn't put em on advisory though ... and said to put a thick tiewrap around the centre of the rubber and pull it tight ... seems to stop the cracking of the rubber ???? any one ever heard of that "fix" ???

Have bizarrely heard of that "FIX" but as the rubbers cost peanuts then may as well put new ones on...they take 30 seconds to swap over once you work out how to remove the little metal tag thing that holds them in place lol

How different is a prefacelift 3.0 exhaust to a facelift 3.0 exhaust? And what are the differences?

about 3 inches on the twin tail pipes but it doesnt melt the bumper and I think the eternalcar system is the best and nost cost effective option in the market.

I would agree. Tailpipes look a little silly but easily fixed with some aftermarket chrome trims or just weld on the extensions from the OEM exhaust if they clean up OK.

Having seen the latest GM items, got to be worth a go at that price. :-)

I notice the date range on the eternal website runs to 02/01.
eg Omega B 3.0i MV6 -24V   1994 - 02/2001

There was no change to fitment at that time was there?  (I ask as I am about to order a system for an '02 car..)

I'm also assuming it will fit any 3.0 (or 3.2), not just MV6's?

none between the 3.0 nd 2.5 facelifts and prefacelifts i think chris

also where can you get the downpipes for the v6's with the cats already on? (for a 3.0-saloon incase it makes any difference)
