Old jaguar XJ pillarless coupe with manual O/D 'box

V8 converted dolly sprint

Loved the 1.9 GTi 205s I had

Had a few Talbot Sunbeams before...would love a Lotus Sunbeam or Mk1 RS2000 with forest arches and twin 45's on a lumpy cam

Mine was done under a severe budget hence twin Strombergs rather than twin 40DCOEs

I'd consider the following;

Elise S1
Smart Roadster
3 wheel thingy (several possibilities, but not the Sinclair!)
Bike (sidecar?)
Ur Quattro
S3
Kit car
Fiesta (current model only)
Mustang

Sure there's several more . . .

I've gone as far as buying Ron Champion's "Build your own sports car for £250" about 5 years ago, but have never got round to it.  One day...

But seeing as Mk2 Escorts are a bit thin on the ground (at reasonable prices), and Sierra's are starting to get the same way, how about using an Omega that's getting ready for the scrapper?  Now then...  :-/

One of the following

Lotus Sunbeam
Land Rover V8
Talbot Avenger Estate
Carlton GSi3000

Like the Sunbeam (with the Avenger in there, am I detecting a bit of a Rootes group fetish?  ;))

My mum had a banger Chrysler estate - a great car, I had a Sunbeam in a very broke part of life, and it was the best handling car I had ever driven - but mine was a tuned 1.6.

The estate - finding a cheap not rusty is almost impossible, then it would need the cam changed, rebore with 90mm pistons, hardened valves and a multipoint EFI conversion

Aye, my folks have had Imps, Hunters, Avengers, and an Alpine back in the day.  I keep looking on fleabay at Avengers every now and again...  :-[  ;D

Maybe the rear diff, but that's about it.

I am contemplating designing my own chassis.  Just not happy with what is out there, would be easier to start with some sort of shell though.

As in the cheese-wedge shape TB?

They always remind me of Austin Princesses for some reason (albeit fast ones!)

That's rubber-stamped it then - think I'll have a bid on this!

Those are all kinda similar to the miggy.  The E36 M3 isn't really any faster than a 3.0 Omega, a mate has one and it doesn't impress for the money.

Hmmm,

Rover SD1 V8 Vitesse

But really the second car would have to be a fair bit cheaper to run than the Omega.

Started looking at Calibra's again. Quite a few 8 Valve ones about for peanuts.......
