sport mode button does give a more aggressive powe delivery, pay attention with tc off in this weather though.

Put my 3.2 on a rolling road last summer. Iirc figure at rear wheels was 180 ish and 234 at the fly wheel or something like, with an auto box. You may get a speed sensor error code come up, dont worry about it, it will go away.

That could be purely the V6 roar from what is a powerful engine using the full potential of the gears in Sports mode, which many of us love :-* :-* :-* :-* ;)  As for being "sedate" that is what the motoing press thought when calling them once "grandad cars"; how wrong they were when it is a V6 miggy!! ;D ;D ;D ;)

Personally I would miss that as I did when away from big Vx's temporily, because I use that function a lot as required!!

if you want speed then an auto isnt the way to go about it get a Manual 3.0 very rare though!

the V6 is a quiet engine even when being booted its smooth quiet and fast! if yours is making loads of noise then someone may of fitted an induction kit to it! not a good idea atall!

Omega 4 I have just received a reply back from TB:

"Give me his login name, and email address, and when it disappeared, and I'll see if we can restore from backup"

Either PM me with the details or send direct to TB. 8-)

 ;) ;)

I have always had auto boxes in all my cars and your statement isn't strictly true. Auto boxes allow you to show up a lot of 'quick' cars away from the mark. While they are changing gear you have pulled away. On the open road they may get by you if they are willing to go quicker than you and conditions allow but its that initial take off that gives the grin. ;)

That can be true... it depends on the driver tho, if they a fast a changing gear, a Manual is far faster.

Typical driving I find it the other way round though, with the auto I often find I have to lift off gas (almost asif im going to change gear) because the car infront is doing exactly that!  :P

In Most cars I can change gear and out perform any auto box.  I just dont get the Traction control anyway in a rear wheel drive car its better with it turned off, I nly found it a problem in the Vectra where the front wheels went light leaving you with no steering the Omega is not too good at holding the road due to its heavy body and running gear but it is so much more well behaved with TC off. mind you I am used to wheel spin in the Rover vittese. which is much cheaper to run and much faster. and has better handling
