Heater Problem.
« on: 18 January 2009, 19:37:37 »

   Hi,
I put my battery back on today after taking it off and charging it up and thought i would reset windows and heater. I started the car and let it warm up did the windows and then switched on the heater to auto and increased the driver's side to Hi which also did the same to the pass. side, hot air was blowing out nicely but pressed the auto and off buttons together just to make sure it was reset properly but when it came back on it now only blows cold air and if you adjust driver's side it doesn't affect the pass. side anymore! what have i done!!! Tried a dozen times but won't reset!

            Thanks for any help,
                                         Pete :).

If you have done the auto/off button trick, then the only answer short of a Tech2 is disconnect the battery again for a while..... :-/

have a similar problem I haven't yet solved, I have warm air everywhere and cold on the drivers side, I've checked passenger stepper motor and that is OK, (as per the guide here) I just have to do the drivers side when I find it  ;D

a long shot, but maybe your reset of the aircon has shifted these?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the climate is dual zone, but if the temp on pass side is different to drivers side by more than 3degrees then it upsets the temp controle and becomes less responsive.

Cant remember the rule on the pre f lift but it may need the key out of the ignition to reset the climate so it alters the pass side the same as the driver side. If the pass side is altered it assumes the passenger wants different temp to the driver. Hens difference. But it only responds to to a 3 degree difference. Maybe?

Edit. To add. It should be set correctly once the reset is done though. Maybe the pass side was altered after reset? also face lift reset only seems to work with engine off, ignition in position 2. Worth a try?

Not very helpfull I know - but I have exactly the same problem on my 2.5CD facelift so I will be very interested to hear how you fix it.  I have tried the forum in the past but no one on the forum has come up with an answer yet!!!!!
