2 Stoke oil petrol ok for omega?
« on: 21 September 2006, 12:15:00 »

Hey,
I have 40 litres of unleaded mixed with 2 stroke oil (300-400:1; very weak).  Was used for an outboard boat engine that i no longer own.  Is it ok to put into my omega, or will it cause problems?

Cheers.

I wouldn't want to do it myself, not sure what it would do to the injectors etc... although I've no idea.

Don't recommend it, unless one of the experts here confirms it's ok.

2 stroke oil is designed to burn cleanly, also it provides upper cylinder lubrication.

I would use it. But dilute 20l to a tank

Sounds good, was thinking earlier i could just put in 5-10 litres everytime i do a full tank and that would have to be fine.

cheers

Since stuff like Redex gets put in I can't really see a problem, some 2 stroke engines have cats as well - have a web search.

Just keep well diluted

As has been said I would not risk it just incase it effects the cats, could you not dispose of it in a pre cat motor? I run a 2 stroke outboard and run a pre cat fiesta I dispose of surplus fuel in that, well dilutedBy the way 300-400 -1 is a very lean mix what engine did you use it in?

SOme people have used 2S oil as an upper cylinder lubricant.

But search on it I personally would risk it as I can pass an MOT with no cats (LPG)

No, no, you can't use that. And you have to dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way. Tell you what, just ship it to me and I’ll sort it out for you, no charge  ;)
