Slight Annoying problem with the Elite.
« on: 23 January 2009, 20:44:06 »

Only just started to happen on thursday, may be some thing of nothing really but has happened again today a few times. I am thinking it could be the crankshaft sensor.

Now when the car gets hot and I have stopped at lights or in traffic she will just stall, there is no eratic idleing all breathers are clean, no oil in plug wells cam cover's are very good. I have not done a paperclip test yet until tomorrow so don't know what codes there are. Anyone give some inclination on this one? There is know EML on either.

I would of thought there would be some form of eratic idling going on then stall, but as this is not happening wouldn't have thought this would be the problem, but I could be wrong.

would tend to agree...crank sensor, i would expect it not to start or cut out on the power, although no reason why crank sensor wouldn't play up on tick over, but more than once on tick over cant be coincidence, can it? If no 19 on the paper clip test, then clean and lube icv which cant do any harm anyway...
