if its a 99 it could be facelift or pre facelift, pre had 16s and facelift had 17s

is yours pre?

16s 255/55/16 (i think?)

17s 235/45/17

If I go to 255/50/16 the speedo at 70 would then read 70.81

Would these tyres fit?

yes, check what size they currently are first cos i dont know if mine's right for 16s, you can be upto 2.5% out but no more to remain legal. as close to accurate as possible, i think 70.81 is fine, does it give the percentage difference?

Had a look at a picture of my spare rimes in the garage.  they have Pirelli P6000 225/55/16 tyres on.

So been back and had annother play with the calc Hotel21 listed.

It says 275/45/16 tyres are ideatical to the ones above on rotational circumference and 0% difference at 70 mph.

Will these tyres fit with in the arches on standard rims on the Elite.
