Getting in to vehicle
« on: 26 January 2009, 14:06:07 »

Pulled the plenum etc. on Saturday to do the coolant leak so removed the battery.
Now can't get into the car as the key in the driver's door goes both ways without successfully operating the mechanism.  AFAIK there's no other way in unless I can find a site to patch 12volts onto from outside.
Any ideas?

if you deadlocked it, it will be very stiff to operate mechanism. If just locked, it will be a little less stiff.

Force the key clockwise. It will unlock but IIRC the doorlock pin doesn`t pop up :y

Not too stiff.  Just clicks and goes past the opening point without opening it.  Lever inside moves but sits backs down.

How right you are Rob.

I'm losing my touch.  Am getting so used to things not going right I forgot to try the handle!

Cheers
