Was I right not to buy this?

03 plate 2.2dti cdx saloon, 186K with fairly good Vx history
Needs 4 tyres, has clutch judder, worn / damaged drivers seat, leather unstitching from steering wheel, but worst of all, oil blowing from filler cap and blowing back over bulkhead.  Sounded and felt a bit rough (but are they all like that?)

Could have been mine for £2700

Just didn't float my boat though.

There are better cheaper V6's out there without the starship mileage.

given the condition, i'd say it wasnt much of a bargain, 186 is high but not always an issue, but the car's only 4 years old

and only a 2.2, i thought you wanted an estate elite anyway, 2.5 upwards?

The temptation was there to buy it just because it was a late model, even though I really want a petrol estate

I asked if it was OK to drive back and he said it only overheats when standing in traffic.

Forgot to add that the ABS light is on, alledgedly had a new ABS module recently but not sure how passed MOT with ABS fault?
