Hi everyone. I'm completely up s##t creek now. If anyone has followed my previous postings you will know that my car has been off the road since november with electrical problems. I have had the car all over the place trying to get it fixed. The last place I took it to was vauxhall who said my ecu had failed. I sent the ecu to ECU Testing and they said there is nothing wrong with it, as I suspected.
 Car will now only tick over at 1500rpm, wavering slightly, it will do nothing else. No response from the throttle at all.  I am completely stuffed as I cannot drive it anywhere now. I have just been under the bonnet checking wiring, nothing seeems to be amiss. I was wondering if the tps could have failed but I don't know how to check it.
  Any clues as to what I should do next? I really do what to get my miggy mobile again, despite all it's faults I realy do miss it.

Hi mate. Yes, checked codes ages ago, got a list of about 8 I think. nearly every sensor on the engine was showing a fault. Parts replaced so far are:
 Cam sensor
 Crank sensor
 Egr valve
 Coil pack
 Lambda sensor
  Spark plugs
 All of these items were replaced to initially solve a misfire which gradually got worse until the car was barely driveable. Spanner light came on and that's when the 'fun' started. Car has been at 3 different garages on 3 different diagnostic machines, list of fault codes got longer and longer but nobody could diagnose the problem. Vauxhall said it was the ecu but that is o.k. Since the car has been stood the fly by wire has failed too. I really don't know what to do next, I just keep spending money and getting nowhere

Firstly, you need to clear the codes

Turn ignition on, but DONT START. Ignition off, then back on - then read codes again.

Note them - and clear them.

Then start the engine, and note what codes you get while it's running.

When it's ticking over, please can you advise what the battery voltage is across the terminals....

The other half has a 1.8 Astra Sri which is also drive by wire, and a similar thing happened when she started it and stopped it within a second, literally. The vehicle would only idle with no throttle response whatsoever. Being fly by wire, the throttle pedal switch was dismantled and cleaned. The carbon tracks and metal track 'wipers' were lightly rubbed with a cotton bud dipped in white vinegar (a mild degreaser). Reassembling it and clearing all the codes with a diagnostic reader, the vehicle lept into full working life.

Hi James,
I can't read the fault codes mate, the garage did it for me. I understand the 2.2 can't be paperclipped like the other Omega models.
 Voltage across the battery went ticking over is 13.6 volts.

As the car needs a tech2 to read the codes  see if you can find another garage, rather than the one you used who told you your ecu had gone, that has a genuine tech 2 facilty and more importantly knows how to use the info provided by the tech2 correctly some members on here have them I dnt know if any are close to you

A tech2 is sooooo much more, the obd2 reader is fine for the home user to read codes but not much use beyond that.

The genuine Tech2's can reprogram all the ECU's, live data on running and fuel cons, the list goes on. The OBD2 readers are just that, readers, although they can clear fault codes and reset airbag lights.
