Not sure what to do with my Alloys!
« on: 09 February 2009, 20:38:56 »

They look great in above pic but the Passenger side front is the worst!

Ive heard that these wheels are quite difficult to refurb?

So i was thinking , how would these look all the same colour?  As in the centre of the wheel is Anthersite, or would it we worth getting them refurbed fully?

The Chrome is all peeling off the Rims and looks awfull in places!

If you got 5? why not try painting one of them silver, would give you a rough idea of what it would look like powder coated

Speaking from experience with these wheels, they are fairly easy to diy refurb if the anthrecite sections are in good cond.  I buffed the leading edges of the spokes and rim with fine sand paper on a rotating sander, then used autosol to polish them to a mirror finish, clean the whole wheel inside and out thoroughly and finally 3 coats of laquer to seal the shine on the exposed metal.

quite impressive when finished.

Get them refurbished! Any decent Alloy refurbisher should be able to do them no probs.

Got mine done 2 1/2 years ago - 65 notes a wheel (as they are 'two tone' ie More than one colour).

Having seen Scott from ABS's one colour version, I personnally don't think it works. The silver is a very nice contrast to the grey (or whatever it's proper name is!)

These wheels are easy to buckle - thats why so many are unrepairable. As I've said about them on here before, it seems strange that Irmscher should decide to make such an attractive wheel out of eggboxes.

Get 'em done! :y

The Chrome edge is litrally peeling beyond polishing.

But does anybody know of a good refurber in the Telford area?
