Loctite
« on: 13 November 2007, 15:08:31 »

"When I were a lad" I could buy loctite to stop bolts unthreading. I need some now, but all I can find is loctite super glue.

Has technology passed me by? Do you use super glue for this application these days?

Pat

(I could also buy a bottle of nut brown for 1s and 10p old money - but lets not wander down that road)

The Loctite brand make all sorts of other stuff which is probably where the confusion is arising. What you're after is a thread locking compound. Should be able to get it at most motor factors I reckon.

that's where you went wrong   ;)....you were expecting them to stock something useful instead of all the stick on tat that they punt  on the poor unsuspecting general public

Loctite are owned by Henkel...AND THEY ARE ALL B'STARDS!!!!! I used to work for a company which Henkel bought-out...didn't need me any more, so they brought three disciplinary hearings against me to try and get rid…they failed…so they tried again. They know employment law inside-out. Even though I was completely innocent of any wrong doing, employment law states that I must prove myself innocent. How can you prove yourself innocent against a made-up charge of theft? Receipts for the items that I didn’t have or steal?

Tossers.

Incidentally, if anyone is interested in downloading the full Loctite catalogue:

http://www.loctite.co.uk/int_henkel/loctite_uk/binarydata/pdf/SG_cat_EN.pdf

it makes fascinating bed-time reading!  ;D
