Power steering heavy and speedo issues combined probably means your ABS/TC is gonna follow shortly...watch for the ABS and TC lights showing soon

ABS/TC ECU will need replacing  :y

I had a set of clocks that did exactly the same thing, tried them in another omega and they still did it, so binned them and got another set, all working fine now. I didnt experience any heavy steering issues tho.

Prayer ???

If its the ABS ECU then things could get expensive unless you can find one from a breaker .....

Vx want around £400-£500 for the ECU alone ... refurb/repair is around £150, a breaker one MUST be from the same spec/model/engine type/size  (ie  same part number) or it needs setting up with a code reader .... £70 from VX just to plug in ... (cheaper ways are possible .. :) )

Not that difficult gettin a second hand one from breakers on here mate so worry not...doesnt have to be same gearbox type...sameish year and engine size will do I believe  :y5

1998 2.5 v6 will have an ABS ECU ending in 206...think Loo-Knee has one of these atm and hes posted recently on the for sale section  :y

Its a black box attached to the front of the ABS/TC pump...which is the big metal block to the passengers side of the engine that has the brake pipes coming out of it...

Unfortunately the part number is located on the underside of the ECU so you have to take it off to see! Whose clever idea was that!??
