2.2 dti power loss

the boss has 2.2 dti cd and when she needs more power(change down a gear)  going up hill(long hill) the little light on the dash comes on and power is lost. So you have to stop turn off the engine. Then off you go and its all OK until the next time. Any one had the same thing? :o

had a similar problem with an astra tdi, as tb says code reader needed but,, an idea to check maf sensor -maybe dirty, if not probly one of the regulators, i.e turbo waste gate/ egr

Had a similiar problem with mine.  You can follow what i went through to fix it below.

One thing not mentioned in the link is that when i had the fault code read at the dealers it was in relation to the fuel system.  Can't remember what the code was.
