external temperature problem
« on: 17 February 2009, 16:19:13 »

following on from Rob g's suggestion i have checked the wiring for external temp sensor through to four point multi plug , then from multi plug to where it comes out near battery, i have also fitted new temp sensor and checked that i am getting voltage through to sensor and also checked i am getting voltage through to four point multi plug in front passenger side wheel well , multi function display still reads F  0C, any ideas as this is driving me mad as it affects climate control. i have been told i might have water in wiring somewhere, but god knows where to start.... HELP PLEASE, or is it an expensive trip to vauxhall main agent,  regards mike >:(

Hawksy I have just been through this one and come out the other side.  If you have swapped your sensor for an alternative and you are still getting 'F' on the display you have a broken wire somewhere.

I found the tiniest split in the insulation of one wire just the battery side of the four pin plug.  Almost couldn't see it but when I bet the wire I found that it had actually broken and there was a split in the insulation.  I soldered a 'jumper' wire between the broken ends to fix the problem.

Have you checked the continuity of both blue wires as far as you can?  I am sure this is your problem ...
