2.2 dti fuel consumption

what should a 2.2dti do around town, iuse one as a taxi and only getting about 25mpg,fuel filters changed regulary what else can i check,i dont have heavy right foot

I don't do much driving around town, mainly longer trips and that gets me an average of 44MPG.  I would expect to get low 30's at least in town.

How are you calculating this figure?

The only accurate method is to brim the tank, use the car for a day or two, then brim the tank again. Work it out from there.
Is it manual or auto?

My (chipped) manual 2.5TD returns a constant 33mpg.

You should be getting at least 30+ I get at least 30mpg from my TD and I think it should be more, currently checking my consumption figures again, and going to fit a new stat which will help things.
