drives on its own
« on: 12 February 2009, 22:38:58 »

Hi everyone its good to be part of the club.
could some pls help me with a problem i have a omega 2.5 v6 cdx with a manuel gear box.
I was just wondering if anyone knows why my car continues to gather speed when i change up a gear, even if i dont accelerate.
I thought it might have been the curse control, but it isnt cuz this happens when im travelling below 20mph.

My reply in the post that was 'mislaid' *cough* was alonmg the lines of either a bent throttle linkage on the end of the throttle bodies or a duff throttle cable/pedal.

I know my sons V6 jammed wide open recently (scary!!) and replacement of the throttle bodies (which were bent as a bent thing) has resolved it meantime....

I had the surging issue with a new Signum last year - it turned out to be a clutch and flywheel problem both needing replacement - it is a bit different on the Signum diesel has you have a fancy and problematic flywheel but not sure on Omega as mine is an auto.
