I am planning [today] to go on a 200 mile round trip.
The Brake Pad warning light comes on when I switch the engine off, just started doing that.

Will I end up destroying disc, or will it be safe for a gentle 200 mile round trip?

Should be fine if its just happened unless you have drastically uneven wear on the pads.

I wouldn't go and try to break the world land speed record but you should be OK

It should be fine, just had new disc and pads fitted on mine, and it still gives off the warning

brake pad sensors must be changed also..after you will not have this warning..

I managed to squeeze 500 miles (small journeys) out of the old pads, then replaced pads, discs & the sensors - all warnings cleared now.
