hbv ? 2.5 v6 fl

i have a 2000 fl 2.5 just had thermostat replaced garage says may be fault with hbv anyone know how fault would show

HBV normally just leak coolant over the floor from the back of the block. Different heat settings will/can affect te asize of leak, as can a/c on or off.

Symptoms are constant topping up of coolant.
My Heater Bypass valve blew at the back so you couldnt see any sign's of a leak except for the constant need to top up the bottle, also worth checking the condition of all 3 hose's

cheers got no water leaks just noise after turning ignition off like gurgling only if heater was on from inside behind centre vent
