oil leak
« on: 01 March 2009, 18:54:20 »

i have an oil leak that the cam cover gaskets didnt solve.

its lost a fair bit of oil from the leak but i cant for the life of me find where it is coming from.

looks high up when i get under the car but deffo not the cam cover gaskets (no oil seen and none in the plug wells+cam covers replaced)

the oil drips off the bottom 2 bolts that attach the box to the engine if this helps.

i dont want to give it to a garage only for them to have my pants down.

also.....what does the plug attach to at the front bottom of the engine? found it off today as the clip is a bit loose

those two bolts at the back of the engine seem to catch any liquid dripping down the back of the bell housing. Coolent, atf/engine oil from the rear crank seal/box or, if your sure it engine oil, higher up, leaking  cam covers/oil cooler pipes to cover plate i should think, maybe?

im pretty sure its not the cam cover gaskets as these were changed and i have no sign of oil in the plug wells.

its not coolent and im sure its high up -

oil cooler pipes - will this just be a matter of tightening the clips? is it a big job?
