egr valve location

help i cannot find the egr valve on my 98 2.5 td omega trust me ive LOOKED and just cant find it any chance of a picture lokating it the only reason i ask is the ecu lights telling me theres a problem cheers daz  :y

Remove the black plastic cover at top of engine.

It's located at the extreme forward end of the inlet manifold.
The forward (inlet) end of the EGR valve is connected to the charge-air pipe, (embossed 'turbo-diesel'), with a large-ish diameter hose.

Hang on - you say 'EGR light' ......... ???????

Are you sure you don't mean 'engine management light' (EML)?
I reckon you need to get the car plugged-in and the fault code read before going any further.

blimey, that would be a first, bmw ecu bringing on eml for egr fault.

check the electrical connector for solenoid (near pas bottle)
