My yellow ones are Halfords too. Quite old though so probably not current any more.

ahhh, maybe this is the newbie version of VAT free.

Maybe once I've actually bought something I'll get the 'real' invites  :y

Jack & Stands are 1st on the list, prob get a few other bits as well, anyone got the clarke torque wrench?[/quote]

I've got two Clarke torque wrenches (different ranges) good build quality but a pain to set up. Firstly the scales usually need converting from Nm to kg/ft using a conversion chart. Secondly the scale on the wrenches themselves are confusing to read and can easily be set wrongly.

Cheap though  :y

Forgot and almost missed this!

Just been and got the CTJ2LR jack, looks nice middle range, not too big or small
and went for the torque wrench as well,  both measurements on it and only £12  :y

Just need to pick some stands up from Halfords now, quite like the look of their ratchet ones

But not accurately and rubbish at metal......it operates at very high torque at low speed which hand drills are crap at.

The pillar drill is also excellent for cleaning valves to!

I use it for metal working mainly plus some wood work (it can accept morticing drills).....

Had a similar experience in W H Smiths as well....

Just wandered past the pen counter, and this saleswoman asked if if I wanted a pen that writes upside down and under water.

I said no thanks, then showed her a bic biro I carry, and suggested she started pushing these, told her they write any word you can think of, not limited to just 4 like those weird ones.  ;D

Sorry, I'll get my coat.

I'm really pleased with the combined bench grinder and belt sander I bought. A very impressive bit of kit for 25 notes.

I wasn't so impressed when I saw the state of my recently-polished car that I failed to remove from the garage before trying it out.

Why isn't everything in life as good as buying power tools?  ;D

Another forum of which I am a member has a really nice emoticon of a bloke banging his head against a wall. I could do with that right now.

Now, Where's my PLUMber's wrench gone? :-/
