I attempted to fix my blown bulb in mine and stripped it out by removing the round switch and then the entire roof console to get to the bulb and then discovered a peanut bulb with 2 wires sticking out of it just sat in the little holder - it just popped out when i gave it a tug.  I was in Halfords car park at the time and all i used was a small flat bladed scewdriver - once i had it out i took it into Halfords to get a replacement but they dont do one - suggested Maplins but I am thinking mine was never connected as the 2 small wires on the bulb look like they have never been connected.

I know it doesn't really help but thought I would give you an idea of how easy it is to get it out and where NOT to go for the replacement :)

I had a td estate with the same prob the bulbs i found only from VX. If i remember right pull the switch knob off take the surround off then pull the bulb straight down gently with a pair of pliers. There are two legs on the bulbs about 1/2 to 3/4 inch long they were about £3 or so but had to be ordered in. Hope this helps if im wrong im sure one of the longer oof mumbers will corect me (i hope so  [smiley=grin.gif])

Hi, i took the whole switch assembly down trimmed around where the bulb goes into and replaced it with a 12v ultrabright LED bulb. Worked a treat.

It is as discribed, small glass bulb with two wires, I removed the old one and took it to Maplins, they found a match, I bought two 2 years ago, fitted one which is still working fine, gave the other away to a OOF member.
