Antifreeze
« on: 14 March 2009, 21:12:21 »

Well did another oil change and coolant change today and also changed the air filter seems loads better and the noisy lifter is geting quiter yet again. Still getting oil coming through into coolant header tank but it only seems to come through when i have antifreeze in, when i run it on just water (for brief periods) i get absolutely no oil in the water. Does anti freeze collect oil which may be lining the pipes?

Antifreeze is based on a type of alcohol, and alcohols are much better at dissolving oils than water is.  So yes, I'd expect more oily sludge to be carried around the system with antifreeze in the system than without.

Why not try some Forte Cooling System Flush?
