Air Con Not Working
« on: 18 March 2009, 15:43:34 »

Hi Folks,

I originally added this onto the back of the thread which was posted earlier today (I do apologise for that blatent hijacking!!  :-[ )

So thought I'd better post here...

Basically, I'm having probs with my Air Con not working (well, Climate Control - it's a facelift).

With ECO switched off, and the temp set to LO, the air doesn't blow cold.

Looking at the A/C Pump in the engine bay, the bit with the knobs on at the front of the pump doesn't spin.  With the engine off, the bit with knobs on does turn freely.

But I'm also getting error code p1530, which is:
P1530 A/C Relay Voltage HighB-021
P1530 A/C Relay Voltage LowB-021
P1530 A/C Relay Circuit OpenB-021

Is this likely to be caused by lack of A/C gas?
Or is it the relay?  If so - where is the relay?

Also, not sure if it's related or not - if I switch the engine on with ECO on, ECO on the Climate Control panel flashes on and off for a few seconds.  Is this right?

Cheers

Cheers MDTM - I'll check it.

Is it in the fusebox under the steering wheel?  And is it the clear-type, where you can tell by looking at it whether or not it's blown?  Or do I need to run a multi-meter over it?

If it's blown, is there anything else that F29 controls, as all other electrics seems to be fine?

Yep, cabin fuse box, top row, 4th from the right.

cant remember what else conencts to it as on the later facelifts the items on each fuse are different to those in the guide

Well, thanks once again for the bob-on advice MDTM - F29 was indeed blown!

So changed it for another 10A fuse (same amps as what was originally in), and jobs a good un - fan kicking in at the front, and the A/C pump spinning away merrily!  :)

Not blowing very cold though, so will probably need re-gassing.

So thanks again MDTM  :y
