petrol flap wont open

went to fill up earlier and the petrol flap wouldnt open, got her home running on fumes. all i know is that it has a motor that runs of the central locking that locks the flap, but for some reason its not opening..help....

Hi,
   I think I'm right in saying you can get to the servo from in the boot behind the panel on the right side :y.

Not sure what you will find, may just be a pull cord or something, but there is always an emergency back up.... :)

hi mate to look at the petrol cap servo motor open right side cover in the boot where the first aid pack is . you can see the motor two bolts hold it in place ? my be the wire plug has came way from motor ? the motor pushes a locking rod in to fuel flap . if you remove this you can fuel up car / and look for problem . i hope this helps you good luck :y

Yup, the servos are prone to failure, easy to replace, get one from any Mig, from any scrappy.  :y

what's that then?

take the cover off the pump in the floor of the boot and fill from there? :D

Mine stuck ages ago, I opened it from inside the boot as advised and gave it a squirt of WD and its been fine since! :y

My father inlaw borrowed my car once and couldn't open the fuel cap had used the central locking before trying to fill it up.

yes!!! just filled her up managed to pull the servo arm back with a pair of pliers checked the connector was plugged in ok, sprayed with some wd40, servo is def dead. how do you get to the bolts to remove the servo dont seem to be a lot of room in there.. :)

just on wheel arch you should have two cross head screws undo them and bkt will come off with servo motor and jobs a goodun :y

cheers for all your help guys didnt realise it was on a bracket, anyway its of now given it a good squirt with wd and worked briefly but dead slow, now its stopped working again. of now to the wanted section to see if any of you guys have got one for sale... :y
