Sorry to hear this, there seems to be a lot of "kids with no fathers" about these days.

Ken

Waaaaaaay to stereotypical, I must disagree.

I had no father, from the age of about 9 months. I've never intentionally "broken" anything for fun, or stolen, and such, including in my early and late teens.

Anyone who knows me will agree that I've not turned out too bad as a result. Your statement is too generic, it doesn't apply to everyone.  :'(

see both sides.

Initial comment is unfounded but a personal assesment of affairs.

Latter comment is equally unfounded, based on personal circumstances.... (apologies James, I know you turned out fine... :y )

personally, I tend towards the former (but this is neither the time or place...)

As long as there is the understanding that there can be an execption to the rule, I don't disagree :)

I feel for you Dave I really do, and it does seem to be the times we are living in unfortunately >:(
You say they were kids out at around 1 o'clock? well I hold the parents to blame... kids shouldn't be out that late at night for a start... I think that in itself reflects on what the parents are like....
Granted when your children go out parents don't know what they are up too. As children we all do devilish things, we did knocking on doors and running off, hedge jumping and stuff like that, not breaking in cars or houses never even dream of it, my dad would have leathered me if I got in any trouble "Don't you ever bring the Police here" he said to me.
Lack of Respect is a huge thing. You only have to look back at last Sunday, Rememberance Day, how many people don't do 2 mins silence? loads! That to me is disgusting.
As for the Police they must be as pissed off as everyone else if not more as there hands are tied, they catch criminals and they are let off....
We could go on forever. >:(

Hi James,
Sorry, I was not wanting to swear on the forum, so I used the expression to refer to "Ba5tards". No inference to people who lost their fathers for any reason. Its just this frustration, you do what you can to try and earn a living, you get a cracking car, OK cosmetically challanged, but still great all the same, you park it a street, and some little (See above) decides to cause about Ģ200 damage to it. I can't afford to loose my NCB, so I got to bit the bullet and pay for the bits myself and fit them. And as I am driving away, I see all the other cars on the street, none of which are damaged.
Life's a bitch sometimes.

PS, not quite as bad as you, but my dad left my mum when we were very young, she was basically chucked out with 2 young kids to bring up(7 and 5 years). She did very well.

I don't think the number of parents / guardians is the issue. It's whether someone is there to take an interest in bringing them up properly and devoting a bit of time out of their busy lives to be with them. Too many kids get left to their own devices or parmed off onto anyone who'll look after them IMHO.

I am sorry to hear about all the Damage, and Vandalism that is going on all over the place, by the sounds of it  it seems to be a national  problem.

As for the reasons Children, or teenagers do this, well many have been stated, just a thought along the way....................

I have a 22 year old step daughter who has had all the love and attention you could imagine, a Fantastic Mother that tried her upmost to keep her on a descent path, me (Dont start lol) and i have really tried my best to be a Friend rather than an Authority. Now the line that she has gone down is so disgusting that i will not reveal on here, but suffice to say, i donīt think its either the fact that children grow up with or without parents that are the reason for criminal damage and Anti-Social behavior, its more like a Lemmings point of view, one starts and all will follow, perhaps just for the kick.

Never the less they should all be openly thrashed ntill they drop and branded with the words anti-social, or respectless on their forheads.

Tell that neighbour they can pay for repairs as the only reason for them to complain is that they did it >:(

How am I not typical? I was pretty normal last time I checked  ::)

Dad was a drinking, theiving, jobless, violent woman beating waster. Hence no involvement from me.  :y

I have three children and I am worried about the world they will grow up into.

Keeping them on the straight and narrow is not easy, I do come down on them hard if they have been particularly stupid, but all in all I think they will be OK

No wonder you came up well away from someone like that.

We have noticed that the younger members on here tend to have a lot more respect than a number of young people. Look at your self, you are hard working, thoughtful, and do not cause problems.

I think a lot of younger people who make a lot of use of the internet though tend to be fine.

When I was young I suppose about 1 in 20 youths were trouble makers

Some kids need a good kickin' to remind them what's right and what's wrong.

Give 'em a dig from me  >:(
