Door problems
« on: 01 April 2009, 06:03:15 »

HELP.......

I can't get my passenger side front door open, it seems like something is jammed inside the door.
If you try and open the doors on the key button nothing happens at all, but when you try to open the doors with the key in the drivers door lock the drivers door will open OK and lock OK but the passenger side front button comes up and goes back down. I can't get the door open to get the door card off so i can get to the seat of the problem.

Has anybody come across this problem before ?  If you have how did you manage to get the door open ?

Once i can get the door open i can sort out the problem inside the door hopefully............

I have had a similar problem in the past with the actual door catch mechanism brealing, I opened by holding the door release button  open on the inside, and using brute force with my shoulder and it popped open, this is when I saw the cracked door catch.

One new catch from breakers yard and all was right again.

I've tried that but still no joy  >:(

Any other ways of opening the door other than using a small nuclear weapon  :)

From the outside, hold the catch up and push the door inwards and then quickly try to pull it open. Be careful not to damage/dent the door when pushing and pulling.

It is possible to remove the door lining with the door shut but it is very awkward and usually breaks a few of the plastic clips.

Good luck

I assume you have tried both from inside and outside? and wriggling it around a bit.

I had a problem with the drives door.
The plastic trim around the internal door handle was holding the handle out a small amount and that some how jammed the works.
I took the trim off and force the internal handle and the door opened, it's being ok since.

Tried wiggleing the button and pulling the releases handle and pushing the door with my shoulder and getting someone to pull from the outside but i don't seem to want to shift.

All the other doors work OK it's just the passenger front. If i could get the door card off i would be able to get the door open.
