Uneven Tickover - backfiring and 'popping'
« on: 03 April 2009, 10:51:38 »

Any help would be much appreciated! - I have recently bought a 1997 Omega 2.5i V6 with LPG.
The tickover seems very lumpy and when accelerating from a stand still the exhaust 'pops!' and backfires before the car finally decides to go!
Also the car seems generally sluggish with disappointing acceleration - mpg is shown as around 17mpg.
The car came with receipts showing it has had a full service, new plugs and new HT leads in the last 2000 miles.

Thanks!

Anyone help with what that means? :-/

Well 12 are just start & stop of paperclip test.

19 is crank sensor but that wouldn't normally cause misfiring, it would simply stop running.

I had similar problems when my EGR valve came apart may be worth checking that  :y
