Codes
« on: 04 April 2009, 18:43:34 »

1998 2.5 Elite Estate.

Just done oil cooler & fitted new crank sensor.

Today eml came on while driving, no other issues.

Checked codes - 31 (guess normal) and 74 MAF high voltage.  Cleared codes seems ok now.

Also checked all elec plugs to MAF - ok.

Car starts on the button (since crank sensor changed - before poor starting) and seems to run ok.

Any opinions re the 74 code?

Yes thats why I changed the crank sensor - but only 19 nothing else.

Once car started rechecked codes with engine off and only a 31 showing.

OK thanks for that.

Would the 74 be the cause of eml light coming on ( and sometimes going off!)?  Not staying on since I cleared codes.

Have you got a code reader to clear codes?

if it comes back after clearing, there is a problem.

maf faults usually air leaks, rather than maf itself

Jaime - checked for air leaks - can't find any.  Car itself goes like sh*t off a shovel!  Will recheck for codes in the next few days.
