Sound System... Same old Rhythm??
« on: 05 April 2009, 16:54:26 »

I am in the market for a new omega, just wondering about the various sound systems fitted to different models. I currently have a '98 CD and the system is quite frankly rubbish; I've not upgraded due to losing the steering wheel functionality and the LCD screen.

Were the systems improved on the facelift models and are they better on elites than CDX/CD/MV6 etc..

I would also like to hook my ipod up? How easy is this? I live in London and there are too many pirate channels for the itrip (transmitter) to work well, unless you're in the huge car park under westfield.

And does anyone else still listen to Steel Pulse?

Cool - will check that out..

Was the BOSE system standard on other models or just the elite?? Does that mean if I buy a CDX I'll end up with a bag of a sound system?

I have not had a cdx, but i think that Bose was just in Elite's, unless like myself you fit it into an MV6  ;)

System in my CDX is ok and quite punchy for a standard Radio/CD, Bose in Omegas are old hat and overated now compared to say a Bose system in an Audi, just upgrade the standard Omega speakers with say infinity kappa components and them alone will out perform any Omega Bose system

In every car I have ever owned I have changed radio and speaker combinations to find just the right sound, Probably could have brought another car with the money spent on I.C.E, however upon getting my hands on my elite which has BOSE as standard, I was blown away with the sound quality and performance of the system, I have left it as it rolled out of the factory with all the Subs and Woofers of the past being retired to the loft.

Go for the Elite, it has the toys and the BOSE.
