hi all
my mig seems to be running a bit warm, in traffic she gets to about 97 then fans come on goes down to bout 95 fans go off. got under the bonnet yesterday and the hoses off the rad are quite hard to squeeze although once the engine cools they go back to normal. there is no oil in water or water in oil and no oil or coolant loss, im not sure if im worrying over nowt but just wondered if any of you could shed some light

I assume you are going by the gauge, these are not that accurate, and your temp is probably fine. Mine is a little on the low side, I wish I could test the temp accurately.

yeh im purely looking at the gauge when i say its running at 97 but the pipes off the rad are hot and  quite hard to squeeze

im not 100% but i think the one on the left of the two sitting in front of the air con condenser comes on about 95 - 97 ive not seen any of the other two come on at all

sounds like gauage **may** be accurate enough.  Might be worth flushing cooling system through - what state is coolant in?

it looks a bit worst for wear to be honest would flushing solve the pressure in pipes or is this normal

If its in a mess, flush it.

sorted ill give it a go what are the flushing procedures?

my miggy goes up to the 100 mark before really noisey fans kick in and a much less noisey fan kicks in bout 93-95.

i also find thou that when my mig hits 100 in temp if i turn the ign off an on again it can sometimes drop by up to 5 degree's

regards the flushin do you have a v6 or 4 cyclinder

if 4, do it how the haynes book of lies tells you

if v6 like me, the haynes manual doesnt tell you you only get half out at first.  

there is a how to on here somewhere, try the maintenance section or one of the others

My old 2.5 started running hot just before the rad blew..was up at 100 C - with new rad it never went over 90 - could be worth a look?

ive had a gander at the maintanence guide but it only tells you how to do a flush on a deisel not the 3.0 v6 any ideas where i can find the how to?
