This is what I think.
He does own the car, its not a write off and he is going abroad and all is genuine.

I think its on HP, so he sells the car taking the cash and clears off abroad and stops the payments. the new owner wont know anything about it until the is car repossessed in a few months :'(

Why bid up to 12k, when it had a BIN of £5.5k?

Surely just make the offer and go get it??

Something V fishy about that, with a car of that nature, you would ENCOURAGE viewings to genuine bidders!

That is a scam, fair and simple. The fact that the bloke has no history, the suspicious 'business' account etc. It won't even be his car to sell. I'm sure he will kindly offer to transport the car to your home as well....after he's taken your money. Can't believe some of you lot could be so gullible.

Might be worth a cheeky email to to winning bidder though just to see what's been said.

I think yes, it would've been down to second or on who had put the highest bid in, I put in 12k when it was at £10,100 around 1.10p.m., which was fine until the last minute, when I went to up the bid in the last 25/20 seconds the cofnirm button did'nt work, had to click again and by that time it had already gone :-/

i think the 3 of you should go down if its not too much of an inconvenience, be checking Vin plates all over it and everything!

seems odd for the winner not to part with his cash for a car worth over £3000 more if it's genuine!
