cam covers ....GREEN or BLACK sealant ?

just got new vx cam cover seals for my v6
vx man said they use the GREEN now but to be honest it seems a bit runny  :-/

opinions anybody ?

black. epc makes it less clear, but its defo the black.

Loctite 900 was used at the factory apparently????? :-/ i was just reading on this forum I'm not sure what the truth in that is but you can get it from halfrauds and that is the black one or i may be corrected. ideally go for vx :y

will pop in tomorrow if there open and have a peep at the loctite.
if not then vx it is  :y
but need to sort this out one way or another quick.
self employed and for the first time since last summer the phones going crazy  ;D

did you get the sealant "loctite 900" from halfrauds

if so hows the cam change going?

loctite 5699 is best i can get ( silver / gray ). Halfrauds say they have never heard of 900  :-?
as long as the leaflet does'nt lie like a vx dealer then it should do the job  :y



vx dealers are shut till tuesday so i've not got much of a choice on this one, its this weekend or bust. i've got to have a car by tuesday morning or i will loose a shed full of work  :'(

as for the job its self, the rain is bouncing of the road outside at the moment so i'm sat hear with a 4 pack of carling  :y

I used Hylomar Universal Blue on mine as I could not get the black stuff at the time and that was 40K miles ago, no leaks since
