Drivers Car Seat Comfort problem
« on: 12 April 2009, 18:00:43 »

HI
Had my 99T 2.5CDX a few weeks now and well happy, apart from the Drivers seat. Car has done 104k miles .I have velour trim, electric seats with heater and lumbar adjustment. The seat adjusts normally in all directions.
But it's flamin' uncomfortable!  :(
It feels like there is a hard bar across my lower back. This is just below the lumbar adjustment, so its not that.
All my previous Opels/Vauxhalls never had this problem.
Any advice appreciated as per usual.

The previous owner might have been on the large side & buggered your seat up, you could take the back off ( a self tapper in each coerner at the back) & have a look. Failing that, A N Other seat!  :y

my old cdx seat was more like a hammock by the time the car had done nearly 150k. No good for my back at all.

Have since found the seats are fairly easy to come apart, although it looks a bit daunting at first. They come out of the car easily once electrics are disconnected. Then if you do get another seat, even if its the wrong colour, its very doable to change the covers by snipping the hog rings and fitting new ones to hold your cover.

As mentioned i think once your correct setting is achieved you will have no problem's.

I quite like these seats although not as good as the Recaro seats i have had in previous cars they are more then capable of arriving comfy after a long journey.

But we know that when people describe their seats as Recaro, they're talking about side hugging shaped seats ....... whether they're Recaro or not.  :y :y
If a sunroof was described as a Webasto, I'd think of a folding fabric roof of the 70's, b ut if you look inside your sunroof motor, you'll find tha it also has Webasto in there.  :y  :y

thanx.
I will try and go through the seat memory setup up routine again.
I fitted a genuine aftermarket Recaro in my old VX royale. Initially felt hard, but 200miles trip felt like 20.  Mind you the blue didn't quite match the burgundy trim. ;D

I miss that car.... :'(
