Chirping sound might well be the power sounder if the battery volts are dropping too low during cranking. Is the battery is good condition?

Battery terminals staying cool when cranking and no loosely crimped cables?

Does the immobiliser light go out or flash during cranking?

The light goes out,

Even 30-40 mins after I tried to start the car, the car is still chirping

I think the light is supposed to go out IIRC. :-/ It proves the engine ECU is seeing cranking and immobiliser is deactivated.

Might be worth cracking loose the feed union to the fuel rail to see if there's fuel pressure behind it?

Worth checking for any blown fuses.

Then, if no pressure, remove the fuel pump relay, bridge the wider of the two pins at the socket with a bit of wire and see if the fuel pump is heard to run and generates fuel pressure.

I suppose the chirping is coming from the power sounder and not the DBW throttle? That sometimes makes some odd noises when it is initialised on startup.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to do the pedal trick and see if there are any stored codes either. :y

I'II wait until my wife comes home, and use her car to give the car a jump to see if it is the battery, I used the car yesterday and there was no problems with it.

Don't think it's code 19 on a 3.2, it's 0335 iirc

I feel really stupid about this,

I tried starting it again this morning and nothing, so I had a 5 litre petrol can full of petrol and put it in the miggy fuel tank and it started first time, the strange thing was the fuel gauge was only just touching the red and the range said 50 miles so I didn't think it needed fuel, but anyway the cars now running ::)
