Check - is it the strap or the metal around the 'door' unit ripping !

Replacing the 20p bush normally (but not always) resolves this.  Guide in Maintenence Guides.

So, what to do, if it doesn't help? I have replaced the bush on my drivers door some 6 months ago and its noisy again. Tried to put the passenger side (almost never used) bush to drivers side and it didn't change a thing. should I make a new screw out of brass etc to replace the bush?

I read this post at 12:00hrs - nipped along to my local dealer just down the road from my office and purchased one of these bushes for thirty pence and then fitted it using the "how to" guide - all done by 12.25hrs!!

Thanks to all that post with problems and solutions - I think that's one of the best things about this site - you just pick things up by accident and they are pretty simple to action once you have the right information  :y

What sort of noise?

Is the bracket on the door starting to tear?  If so you need the field repair kit (two plates).

I assume not from the door, can clearly see the front pillar end, where the bush is, move when opening the door so there's excessive play in the fitting. It was ok for a while when I changed the bush but it shouldn't be right to have them replaced every 10 000 miles. Also it seems that the welded part in the A-pillar is somewhat loose/not as tightly welded as it might be...
