factory alarm triggers

Are there triggers in the bonnet and boot for the factory alarm? If so, what are they? I'm sure the bonnet pin is one but what about the boot?

I'm asking because I have a problem with a secondary alarm I have fitted and linked to the boot and bonnet circuits (among other including doors, etc). It activates sometimes during the day when it shouldn't and my secondary alarm indicates it is the boot/bonnet circuit, which surely would activate the factory alarm too wouldn't it? But it doesn't.

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

The only thing I've got to go on is the activation code from my aftermarket alarm which indicates boot or bonnet. I'm trying to locate the sensors in those locations to see if any are faulty.

Also can't understand why factory alarm doesn't activate too if one of the sensors causes the false alarm.

Bonnet sensor couldn't be easier to spot! ;) Stand infront of car (with bonnet up ;)) look towards the passenger side suspension turret ..... it's that plunger that sould be completely vertical. They do get knocked, which is often why factory alarms go off as & when they want to, especially hot weather like this when the the bonnet heats up, flexes & closes the switch. Boot switch I assume is tied up with the boot light and is a plunger on the lower edge of the boot lid.  ;)  :y

I've got the bonnet but couldnt find boot. Will do so this evening. Thanks.

You're right about boot light being connected to the boot switch somehow, as I wired the boot trigger circuit of the alarm into the boot light wire I found, as advised by the install manual of the alarm.

Anyway, will check these sensors later.
