I'm off to draw all my money (£7.50) out of the bank and stuff it under my matress. Safest option these days.

what on earth were the details doing on a disk anyway!

they belong purely on the computer, and it's backup, there is NO need to transport them anywhere else!

To use your favourite word, an 'engineer' issue  ;D

been fine once I was finally set up right.

The 'engineer' in his infite wisdom, instead of creating me a user account, copied his own.
Trouble is engineer accounts expire after 60 days

so 60 days into a new laptop, and access denied :(

Have you ever had to go through the remote reauthentication procedure, read out very long numbers and response codes!

3 times this happened before someone worked out the correct way to fix it.

annoyingly always locked me out when I needed my laptop at 3am to fix a production problem, or was working from home.

But still, sending it by post....? This reminds me of days of old, before the Dunblane massacre, when it was possible for sport shooters to order a pistol or revolver by post. All you had to do was send your firearm certificate and a cheque and in return the shop sent you your brand new Glock or S&W by First Class Royal Mail.... sheer madness if you ask me, luckily the Home Office stopped this practice after criminals took advantage of the system (surprise surprise) to obtain firearms.
