When Air con is started, Engine starts to overheat
« on: 26 April 2009, 17:12:54 »

When Air con is started, Engine starts to overheat?

It does get warm when running at 20.c
But rapidily get s too hot, when Air-Con is started.
Already had Thermostat changed, so thats out of the equasion...
May possibly be a dodgy  heater pipe.

Also the temp dramatically drops fast, when i increase the heaters internal temp to HIGH.
I know it would drop anyway, but it really does drop faster than normal.
Would this indicate a problem, with the Bearings on the Air-con pump?
I clutching at straws but am thinking it could possibly be there???

Any ideas you lot??   Cheers Andy

Hello mate and welcome :y

Worth checking that the fan comes on (the one in front of the radiator, NOT the big one behind it), when you turn AC on - should be on all the time that AC is on.

Are you losing and coolant?
