I commute 50 miles each way for work...6 days/week (it's well paid so I don't mind). I am investing in LPG.

Details of what type of fuel over 30 members use is listed here. Not to mention consumption figures.  :y

I use shell, rather than supermarket.
Super unleaded, rather than straght unleaded.
At whichever garage is cheapest as per petrolprices.com and whatever my driving route is....

Car runs better on super unleaded, IMHO, with consumption and power delivered still in acceptable limits...

My friend works for BP and assures me that the best standard unleaded is either BP or Shell. Fuel supplied to supermarkets are not filtered as much and have more ethanol (chepaer) mixed in with them.

I have found that Shell gives me the smoothest ride (ditto for SWMBO's Corsa)

I've switched to Shell as it's cheaper than BP locally.

It gives me a smoother ride, eliminating the initial lag from set off, but returns 2/3mpg less than BP.

So I reckon it costs overall about the same, BP Ultimate for a treat though  :y
