hi all new to this i recently purchased an 1997 td elite which was badly down in power and after hours of reading here i found out about blocking off egr valve which made an enormous difference to power,(thanx to u all) but i have one other problem every time i change into second gear there is a pause of about 2 to 3 seconds b4 acceleration starts and eml light flickers for afew seconds but tyhen goes off please help if u can i have no idea what to check first

so they do exist with a manual box in elite

yes but i hear there very rare (like hens teeth) anyway any ideas on my problem

sadly not, the TD is not so common as the v6 so your responses will be in proportion. But worry not those that do own them are very knowledgable. They will be along. :-)

As said before really get the codes read mate...if EML is coming on chances are a code or codes will be stored and this will greatly help with diagnosis...

Whats your location, might be someone near you with Tech2 or "My Naff Code Reader"

would the paperclip test work on on td?  im in northern ireland

you could try, wont hurt, but i beleive pc test does not work on some TDs???
