Renewing ATF and LPG advice
« on: 02 May 2009, 08:51:38 »

I have just bought a high miler (150k) 2l auto omega lpg. How should I go about renewing the ATF fluid? Also, what kind of servicing does the lpg system need as I suspect that it has not received any attention for about 30k? Do I need to get any certificates for the lpg system for my insurance company? I have the Vauxhall Dualfuel vehicle conversion certificate that was signed Oct 08.
Cheers all

You need about 10 litres of Dextron III for the auto box, plus sump gaskets and filter.

To change the oil you need to remove the sumps, there is no drain plug. Clean the sumps out till they are spotless, change the filter, replace the sumps with new gaskets, fill the box up till the oil overflows, start the engine, take the car through the gears, refill.

Replace the filler plug, take the car for a 5 - 10 mile run, refill till oil overflows again.

All this must be done with the car level.

And as for the LPG side... It'll need filters changing and could probably benefit from being plugged in for a tune up. Do you know what system it is?

Oh... And the certificate you've got will be enough! :y :y :y

Excellent. Thanks very much.
Where is the filter for the transmission?
I will have a look see what make the lpg system is. Could I do the filters for the lpg myself once I find out what make it is?

Cheers.
