The FA Board are meeting in the morning to discuss Maclarens future. Here's an idea....sack that rather lot as well....they chose him.

Why don't we just sack football as a national game as we're so crap at it.
I'm sure we could come up with something better to amuse the nation, nude females wrestling in jelly for instance.

Rather than sack him and pay him off......I would have him coach the Dartmoor prison team until his contract runs out....

Wouldn't cost any more money that way and you would be paying the 2 Million plus in installments.

HA HA HA HA HA not one home nation qualified for euro 08 and at 1 point it looked like 4 were gonna qualify.... i say go back to basics and pick players that would be proud to pull on an england shirt and not just be there to pick up the enormous cheques they get...

Oh well at least we managed 2nd at Rugby and 2nd at F1.

They could use the Wembley pitch as is..   better use for it than football.

Not wanting to rub salt in the wounds.....i am very very Pro England and not as narrow minded as some locals are up here, ie i dont take any glee from England not qualifying, in fact quite the opposite..

However England had the same points total as Scotland, and Scotland had France, Italy and Ukraine in their group....from Englands point of view that was unnaceptable

I agree - it was an 'easy' group.  England also slip up against 'easy' teams due to this defend, defend, defend method that Ericson brought in.  England tend to be OK against better teams.  Possibly even may have qualified if been in Scotlands group? And Scotland would have probably qualified in Englands group?

But the fact remains, Scotland did pretty good, and can hold their heads proud. England were abysmal for the whole qualifying period, and are, rightly, knocked out.
