Take out old cams and lower inlet, put in new 3.0 cams and lower inlet...time it up advisably with a new cambelt/tensioners and water pump while your doing the work anyway and jobs a goodun...

Timing has to be spot on :y

when you say belt do you mean cam belt?

just from looking back at the past bills on my miggy it was changed at 67k and im now knocking on the door of 105k and from what posts ive read i know the belt has to be changed at 40k intervals, and was thinking of changing mine and water pump. so doing the cams at the same time seems like a reasonable idea :) ;) :y

Yes mate, edited the post...yeah, unless the belt and tensioners were new which as you say yours arent its not advisable to reuse the old one...with yours due for renewal anyway cams at same time as doing the cambelt and tensioners is not a great deal of work extra really...also you need to remove the cam covers so may well be worth investing in new cam cover gaskets (and clean out breather system) :y

Oh and if its your HBV leaking this will be a piece of cake to change while your at it :y
