I take it you've done the paperclip/pedal trick and know you're codes then Ray? You need someone with "My Naff Code Reader" or a tech2 to run live data to see where the fault lies.

Common codes to throw up are 81 and 82.
These relate to problems with No4 injector which incorporates the 'start of injection' sensor. Before condemning it though, examine it's wiring/connector very carefully. The connector is below the inlet manifold.

Another common code is the dreaded 64.
This is the fuel temperature sensor within the injection pump, and I'm not sure if it's 'user-serviceable' though the Diesel Magic treatment seems to have been successful with this on more than one occasion!

'Omegatoy' will hopefully be along soon to give advice here, or you could 'PM' him.

What are the symptoms ?
I have a judder, which has become more prominent after I fitted the chip last night.
If the pedal to the floor is throttle position 10, this judder happens at position 1, and not so much when the engine has warmed up.
I'm thinking the sensor injector.

Is the judder at/or around the 1500 rpm mark?

If so, I'm not the only tractor-owning OOFer to experience this. Saying that, I've learned to live with it, though come to think of it, several thousand miles on, it's all but disappeared. I also never use supermarket-type diesel either - the emissions are definately less, and it runs much better too.

Aye, around 1,500 rpm. Similar to being in the wrong gear.

I've got a new (well, newish...about 20k miles) sensor injector on my Elite, but I trapped the wire in the plennum when I did the glow-plugs so it's gonna need some fiddly repair work on the wiring if I remove it. Might swap them over to see if it makes a difference.

eml appears briefly, codes 64 & 96. symptoms loss of power similar to a fuel blockage. done the dm trick, but had knocked the filter rubber so fuel p****ed out. (don,t know how it started, never mind ticked over) so may try again. the problem has been with this tractor for a long time now, but it,s ok at high or normal speeds, & starts in any conditions.   :) :) :)

Take the 96 first - thoroughly clean out all the induction system, wouldn't mind betting that there's a build-up of oil in the 'turbo diesel' manifold, and around the EGR valve in the inlet manifold.

Now the dreaded 64 - could well be that the fuel temp sensor in the injection pump is naffed. However, try filling a new fuel filter with Diesel Magic, and ensure that the filter is seated correctly to it's housing.

See what happens from here.
As I said previously, Omegatoy is very knowlegeable regarding the '64' and will hopefully be along soon.
