My paper clip test results any help !!
« on: 17 May 2009, 12:55:49 »

Hello all again not been on for awhile so feel abit guilty coming straight in with a question .
car is running a bit lumpy on idle keeps going from 5000 to near stalling then back to 5000 so got the paper clip out of my kids school bag and done the test was expecting to give myself a lecky shock sticking metal items in with the wiring but it was fine lol.

13 02 sensor 1 open circult
48 battery volts low
73 mass air flow sen low volt
135 telltele checklight vot low

please adv ? do i need a new batt  i think i might have a small leak in the exhaust after grounding the car going down my parents steep drive would this give the o2 sensor prob? might send them the bill lol lol.
Thanks

On first look it does look like a battery problem. I had 74 and 135 after draining battery by mistake but they soon cleared when fully charged.

Does the engine take longer to crank than usual? Does it sound like it's struggling when cranking?

Not sure about o2 sensor/exhaust prob but they could well be related. Maybe when you grounded the car it knackered the sensor and made a hole. Maybe someone else can comment on this...

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

Thanks Bumbazor the car starts fine doesn't seem to struggle at all should i take the battery out and give it a good charge if so what should i look out for in the way of ecu settings and alarms i do have the radio codes ?
there has been a funny buzzing noise comming from i believe the dash sounds like a warning buzzer of some type but if you pull in and switch the ignition of and on it goes i thought it might be telling me that the battery in the key fob was low and not sinking with the immobiliser ???maybe i shouldent think so much lol so i did order one on friday

If you can measure the voltage of the battery that would help, otherwise give it a good charge. Then take it from there.

Check here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1225724099 for a good guide on testing the battery and alternator.
