0430 relates to the catalyst operating below the efficiency limits, as is 0420. It is the other bank that has generated this code compared to the 0420 code.

These codes relates to the pre cats on both banks, a common ailment of the 3.2 and 2.6 engines.

Welcome to the world of 3.2 Precat failure.... nothing to worry about, car will fly through emissions test as main cats are plenty good enough to do the job.

No problem Mark, it was showing both 0420 and 0430 when I reset it last time, it's CAT efficiency on each bank, need the lambda's moving back like we spoke about. :y

You'll get used to the Emissions lamp coming on all the time and give in resetting it after a month or so!

My last 3.2 used to illuminate the lamp every 2 - 3 days!

This is probably the kiss of death ..... but mine has only come on twice in a year :)  Up in the mountains of southern France last August, when it had been driven pretty hard, and then early October, both were 0420. Other than those ... nothing  :)

The 0420/0430 is common when the pre-cats start to fail, simply (well not so simple but...) moving the pre-cat Lambda sensors to just behind the pre-cats normally cures it for good.

[edit]Unless your on a single cat downpipe like Proz[/edit]

Nothing to do with me but THIS is what you need to get welded in between the cats and use the plug to seal the pre-cat hole. It needs to be a pressure tested airtight weld though or it'll cause more problems come MOT emissions time :y
